What is scite_?
It is an academic platform designed to analyze the citation context of scientific publications. Unlike traditional citation databases that only count total citations (e.g., Web of Science or Scopus), scite_ evaluates how subsequent research papers cite the original work.

How to set up the trial?

1. Citation Categorization: The extracted text from the citing article is automatically categorized into three contextual groups:
- Supporting: The citing text provides evidence that confirms the findings of the cited work.
- Contrasting: The citing text presents evidence that challenges or contradicts the findings of the cited work.
- Mentioning: The citing text references the original work without directly testing or evaluating its results.
2. Citation Snippets Display: Shows the exact text snippet where the source is cited, allowing you to assess the context without opening the full citing paper.
3. scite_ Assistant: An AI interface powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) that answers research questions and links every claim directly to index-backed scientific sources.
4. Reference Check: A verification tool for uploaded documents (PDF, Word) that checks references and flags papers that have been retracted or significantly contested.
5. Browser Extensions & Reference Manager Integrations: Browser extensions and integrations with tools like Zotero that display citation contexts directly while browsing articles on publisher websites.
